Reiki

Reiki energy healing is believed to improve just about any aspect of life from physical health to emotional well-being to stress reduction and mental clarity.

One of the greatest health benefits from a Reiki treatment is a calmer and more peaceful state of being. It helps balance the mind and emotions leaving you better able to cope with everyday stress. Dim lights, soothing music and a comfortable atmosphere promote relaxation for seniors, adults and children. Even pets, plants and water can benefit from Reiki. Our own dog, Lacey, a Field Spaniel, enjoys her Reiki treatment every morning after her walk. She lays on the floor when we get home, closes her eyes and enjoys her mini treatment of just a couple of minutes. She loves it.

Distance healing is also available. Each distant healing starts with the intention to send the healing to a specific person. Sending love, prayer, light, colours, healing, imagining someone well and healthy, are all distant healing techniques.

The Five Reiki Principles

The Reiki principles are a fundamental part of Reiki training. These principles stand alone and following them contains the power to heal the Mind, Body and Spirit. The essence never changes. Consistent, persistent action of the following five principles will lead us all to a happier, healthier lifestyle.

just for today  . . .  Usui’s teachings bless us with the concept of living one day at a time. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by trying to create a huge shift, being the best we can be, one day at a time, is possible for us all.

just for today  . . .  Be grateful for your many blessings

We can be grateful for everything that crosses our path. We can begin by being grateful for the gift of life itself. “When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.” – Tecumseh (1768 – 1813) Shawnee Native American Leader

just for today  . . .  I will not worry

Worry and fear create a negative loop that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. We worry about the future and our worry and fear, through the power of our own intention, help create the very thing we fear the most. We should never confuse worry with concern. Worrying keeps us focused on the problem, while healthy concern helps us think about possible solutions. Dwelling only on the problem becomes a rehearsal for failure.

just for today  . . .  I will not anger

When we come to the understanding that we create our own reality, we start to allow ourselves to look within and stop blaming others for what we feel. Anger and resentment are always a fearful reaction to circumstances.

just for today  . . .  I will be kind to all living things

Being kind to all living things truly starts at home. Loving ourselves is not a selfish act, but necessary in order to love and be kind to all those around us.

just for today  . . .  I honour the Oneness / Sacredness of all life

Everything matters. Do what is right, even when no one is watching. We are separate from no one and nothing. Our very thoughts, words and actions ripple off into the universe with effects far beyond our understanding. Everything is interrelated and we are indeed responsible for what we think, say and do.
